You will no doubt be aware that the Parish Council has been working on plans to replace the existing Pavilion in Barnes Park with a new Sport, Leisure and Community Hub for some time now. The Parish Council is pleased to announce that work will commence on the new building next Monday, 30 November. The initial work will be to demolish the existing building and to prepare the base and services for the new one. The building is of environmentally friendly modular construction and will comprise six separate units which will be constructed off-site, then delivered and lifted in place by crane in early January. The building is due to be completed for handover in mid-March 2021. The project has been funded by the Parish Council, Grassland Hasmoor Big Local, Derbyshire County Council, Sport England and from Section 106 funding. The Parish Council will keep you posted on the progress of the project, including hopefully a photographic record.
